The Suzuki Method repertoire is contained in a series of progressive books. Each book represents an important step in the development of a child’s musical ability. Book graduations are considered as ceremonies, not exams. They are celebrations of achievement, and recognition of the effort our students, families, and teachers put into learning. These recitals are usually held in retirement homes and senior centres in and around Oakville.
There is a $10 fee (free for Twinkle graduates), which covers the cost of a certificate, gift, and administration. Pre-registration is required, and students are expected to participate in a rehearsal in the days prior to the recital. An accompanist will perform with the string and flute students.
Registration Process
- Refer to the Graduation dates and locations below - Note registration deadlines!
- Discuss the technical requirements with your teacher to see if you are ready to graduate a particular book
- Print a Graduation Registration form (see below) for your instrument and have your teacher sign for approval
- Send the completed form with payment (if applicable) to the Registrar c/o the address on the form
