Program Fees Explained

2010 - 2011 fees
Annual Membership Fee
OSA registration fees are $65 for the first student in the family, $45 for the second, and $25 for the third. Subsequent siblings are free. This fee is tax deductable.

Private Lesson Fee
Private lessons average $28 per half hour, but vary according to the teacher’s education and experience. This fee is paid directly to the teacher and is separate from the Oakville Suzuki fees.

Rental Accommodation Fee
Many of our teachers live in and around the GTA, but kindly travel to Oakville so that we may provide the highest quality musical instruction in the Suzuki approach. As a result, we are committed to locating and booking rental space for those who do not teach out of a private studio.

The fee is $80 per year for a student receiving weekly 30 minute lessons, $120 for those receiving 45 minute lessons, and $160 for 60 minute lessons. This Rental Accommodation Fee is paid to the OSA, and does not apply to teachers who use their own home studio.

Group Class Fee
Group class fees for violin, Theory, and Kodaly range from $150-$300 for the academic year and are paid to the OSA. Group class fees for other instruments are arranged by and paid to the private teacher.

Non-Volunteer Option
We are a non-profit organization managed by parent and teacher volunteers committed to the musical education of our children. As such, a volunteer commitment is imperative and required by all Oakville Suzuki families. Opportunities exist to match a variety of interests and time availability.

If you are unable to fulfill this requirement a $100 fee will be accepted in lieu of your volunteer participation. This donation is tax-deductible.

Workshops, Concerts, and Festivals
Attendance at our events is highly recommended as an opportunity to celebrate in your child’s achievements and, in some cases, may be subject to an additional fee.

Graduation Registration
Graduation recitals involve a small fee of $10 for Book 1 & above students (Twinkles are free).

Parent Welcome Package - new!
Parents will be able to purchase the materials they will require to begin their Suzuki experience. The package may be purchased from your private teacher and will include a Suzuki Music book and CD. More details to be provided in late August.

Refunds
In the event that you register but cannot continue your participation with the OSA, a refund of your registration fee minus a $20 administration charge will be considered up to October 31. After this date, registration refunds will not be offered.

Rental Accommodation Fees may be eligible for a pro-rated refund until October 31 providing your time slot can be filled by another student.

Fees for OSA arranged group classes will be pro-rated to the date of your withdrawal up to and including December 15.

Private lesson fee refunds must be negotiated with the teacher.
