Group classes are an integral part of the Suzuki experience. They complement private instruction, but do not replace it. They are also a fun way to practice and motivate the students.
The objective of a group class is to offer the student a positive learning environment in which their peers, other teachers and parents provide motivation. Group activities provide time to review technique and repertoire, and expand reading skills. Group classes are important for learning to follow a conductor, play in a musical ensemble and prepare to play in concert.

As with school work, parents play a critical role in the musical education of their child, and these classes will help them understand how to practice with their child, and create the ideal learning environment at home. The cost of these parent classes is included in group class fee and they will be scheduled while their child is occupied in Kodaly class. Any parent whose child is enrolled in violin group classes are welcome to attend but must inform the Administrator in advance. For parents whose child is not enrolled in group, a fee may apply (to be determined). The Parent Welcome package may be purchased at the beginning of this session. Some materials will also be loaned to parents for the duration of the training but must be returned at the end of November.Click to download the Parent Training Curriculum
